Inspirational voice of Australian Museum
Courtenay Smithers of the Australian Museum was well known for his program in which volunteers tagged butterflies that were then recaptured by contributors in NSW, South Australia and Victoria, who sent back specimens and data on the insects' movements. Many people from non-science backgrounds found themselves engaged in the biology and ecology of insects.
Lily Owens (Dakota Fanning), a motherless 14-year-old in 1960s South Carolina, flees home with her nanny, Rosaleen (Jennifer Hudson), who was beaten and arrested after trying to register to vote. The two find shelter at the home of honey-making maven August Boatwright (Queen Latifah) and her sisters, bonding powerfully to the strong-willed siblings...
